TAKING DRASTIC MEASURES

Once again, I'm a day late and a dollar short, but finally I'm updating.

First, Preacher's sermon on Sunday was fantastic. Again, we are studying the book of Mark. This week's text was from chapter 9, verses 43-50.

Preacher talked of how our culture today takes sin so lightly and how we are thought odd if we don't accept it. But Jesus shows us in this passage the severity of our sin. He says we are to take drastic measure when we find sin in our lives. "If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off!" Jesus might not mean that literally, but he is being extreme to make his point. He is saying "Listen to me, hear me." Get rid of the things that cause you to sin. Sin is deadly serious and we should take drastic measure to eliminate it. There was much more than that, but I couldn't begin to give you his whole sermon in this little synopsis. It was so powerful and so much more!

Several people told me they wished they had worn their steel-toed boots. I suppose I felt the same way, but those are the sermons I really enjoy the most it seems. I think those are the days when the Lord really needs me to hear something and he just lays it out there in a clear and precise way. Not that he doesn't always have something for me to hear, but some days he speaks louder and clearer to me than others.

It funny though, how usually the times when preacher thinks he might not be getting the message across, is when the Lord takes over completely and just socks me right in the nose with something! I think the Lord sometimes must think well she's just not on the right page so I think I'll hit her with something big! I praise him for those days!

SPEAKING OF SIN
Is it sinful to have this much laundry to fold and put up? I'm so thankful that I don't have to use a washboard and hang clothes on the line. I'd never get it all done. PK2 changes clothes more than most girls. He has school clothes, after-school clothes and bedtime clothes.  And there were two more loads after this one. Whew!
